Green Tea Lower the Risk of Cancer

Online Khobor Desk:

Green tea is made from Camellia sinensis leaves that have undergone minimal oxidation during processing. Green tea originated in China, but its production has spread too many countries in Asia, particularly Japan and Korea.

Green tea ingredients are extremely complex. It contains as many as 200 bioactive compounds. The largest and most important chemical compound is polyphenols. Among these polyphenolsCatechins having anticancer activity.

Catechins are believed to have a range of beneficial health effects such as neuroprotective activity, and anti-inflammatory, antiulcer, antiviral, antibacterial, and antiparasitic effects. The most studied catechin in relation to health contributing potential is epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG), which constitutes 50-75% of the total flavonoid content in green tea. EGCG is a potent antioxidant, and acts to inhibit a number of physiologically important enzymes. There is some evidence that it might have therapeutic applications in the treatment of some types of cancer. It may interfere with several of the processes involved in cell replication, causing tumor cell death (apoptosis)

Cancer is a class of diseases characterized by out-of-control cell growth. There are over 100 different types of cancer, and each is classified by the type of cell that is initially affected. . It is one of the world’s leading causes of death. It is well known that oxidative damage contributes to the development of cancer and that antioxidants can have a protective effect.

Some people use green tea to prevent various cancers, including breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, gastric cancer, lung cancer, solid tumor cancers and skin cancer related to exposure to sunlight. Some women use green tea to fight human papilloma virus (HPV), which can cause genital warts, the growth of abnormal cells in the cervix (cervical dysplasia), and cervical cancer.

Green tea is an excellent source of powerful antioxidants, so it makes perfect sense that it could reduce your risk of cancer. InBreast cancer a meta-analysis of observational studies found that women who drank the most green tea had a 22% lower risk of developing breast cancer, the most common cancer in women. In prostate cancer, one study found that men drinking green tea had a 48% lower risk of developing prostate cancer, which is the most common cancer in men.In Colorectal cancer, a study of 69,710 Chinese women found that green tea drinkers had a 57% lower risk of colorectal cancer.Multiple other observational studies show that green tea drinkers are significantly less likely to get various types of cancer.

There is evidence to suggest that green tea consumption may be associated with a slightly lower risk of esophageal cancer in the Chinese population, a lower risk of lung cancer in women, and a lower risk of oral cancer in Asian people.

A 2015 meta-analysis of nine prospective cohort studies concluded that a high amount of green tea consumption may be associated with a lower risk of liver cancer in Asian women. This association was not seen in Asian men or when one cup of green tea was consumed daily.

Similarly, another analysis of observational data conducted in 2012 suggested that green tea consumption may have a favorable effect on lung cancer risk. The observed effect was strongest in those who consumed more than seven cups of green tea daily.

A 2011 meta-analysis of epidemiological studies found limited evidence that green tea consumption may be associated with a moderately reduced risk of liver cancer in Chinese and Japanese people.

Limited evidence suggests that green tea consumption is not associated with the risk of developing pancreatic cancer or prostate cancer. The link between green tea consumption and stomach cancer risk is unclear due to inconsistent evidence.

We know prevention is better than cure. So we should take green tea at least one cup daily to prevent us from the fatal diseases Cancer. It has tremendous health benefits. It can also helps to weight loss, increase brain function, lowering risk of alzheimer’s and parkinson’s diseases in old age and reduce cardiovascular disease, finally increase our life span and ensure a healthy life.
